I'm already making a plan for next week. Sounds like we are having some much needed rain coming our way. That means I won't be outside walking which also means I can be very lazy in getting my activity in. So I am going to walk during commercials, maybe drag out and dust off some of my exercise videos and for sure ride my exercise bike. That's my plan for the activity part of my rainy week. Hope you all will join me in making a plan for the cold rainy week ahead.
Now for the food part. I am going to make some of the cabbage soup in my previous post. It will be something I can make and have ready to just heat up. Maybe add a grilled cheese sandwich made with two slices Sara Lee Delightful and a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. A piece of fruit and you have a 7 Points Plus meal that will keep you nice and full.
Wanted to share a link for the Hungry Girl 2012 shopping list. Click on the highlighted link. It will take you to the Welcome to hungry girl ( click on that) then in the search box type in 2012 shopping list. That will take you to the shopping list. It has some great items listed and it's kind of fun to see what exactly Lisa Lillian uses in her kitchen.
Our meeting this week was about portion control. . Even though I have been doing WW for 1 1/2 years I still need to weigh and measure my foods. I'd rather take the few minutes it takes to weigh my food and know for sure how much I'm eating than to eat more and count less Points Plus. A few unmeasured Points everyday can add up to disaster.
Below is a short list of things you can use in estimating serving sizes:
Taken from the WW weekly
3 ounces of cooked lean steak= deck of cards (3PP)
1 slice of regular cheese= smart phone (2 PP)
1 cup cornflakes=tennis ball (3PP)
1/2 cup serving of ice cream=cupcake wrapper (4PP)
I will have new recipes and helpful hints in the recipe book at the meeting on Thursday. Please check it out. You are welcome to take them out of the binder and take them to the Senior Center Office and have a copy made to take home and add to your own recipe book at home. Instructions on how to get the Power Foods List off e-tools is in the binder.
I have also started a Facebook page which I share recipes and helpful hints that I find online. These are things I can't share on my blog. It is called Our Weigh. I hope you visit there and find something useful.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you return often.
