Yogurt Biscuits
1 biscuit = 2 Points Plus

WHEN WE RAN INTO THESE BISCUITS in

Nathalie Dupree's new book
Southern Biscuits,
we were intrigued. How can
you make a proper biscuit with no fat
and just three ingredients? Well, you
can.
We loved their chewy texture and
sourdough taste and found them ideal to
stuff with fillings.

1 ½ cups self-rising flour

l teaspoon salt

1 ¼ cups plain Greek yogurt

1. Preheat oven to 450F.

2. Whisk flour and salt together in a large bowl. Make a hollow in the center. Pour yogurt into center, and stir with a fork or spoon pulling flour into yogurt. Mix until dry ingredients are moistened and the dough forms.

3. Sprinkle a clean surface with flour. Turn dough out, sprinkle with flour and fold in half. Pat dough until ½ inch thick. Flour again if necessary and fold dough in half a second time. Pat dough into a ½ inch thick round.
4. Dip a 2-inch biscuit cutter into flour and cut out biscuits without twisting.

5. Place biscuits close together on a baking sheet. Bake 10 to 14 minutes, until light golden brown
Serve hot.

Makes 12 biscuits.

Someone from the 10am Paradise meeting gave me this recipe. Thank you for sharing.
I'm going to make these this weekend. I'm also going to make some of my Morningstar Farms crumbles into sausage gravy to put on top. I love my biscuits and gravy. I will let you know how it works out.

Well girls, I made the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are wonderful. Roger even liked them. They kind of tasted like sourdough bread YUMMY.

Dried Beef Gravy

1.5 oz. Hormel Dried Beef
1 cup Fat Free Milk
1 Tbsp. Flour
Nonstick Spray

Spray pan with nonstick spray. Add dried beef and cook till curling and hot. Spray beef and then add flour. Cook for about 2 or 3 minutes. Add milk and stir and cook till thickened. Pour over 2 biscuits and add some steamed broccoli and  enjoy.

Whole recipe is 8 Points Plus.

  1. Question . . . is the Greek yogurt for the biscuit recipe regular, lowfat, or nonfat? Does it matter? What did you use in your recipe? I really want to try these!
